Hydrological and hydraulic study of the 2019 DANA in the Rambla del Beal, Murcia (Spain)
This study analyzes the hydro-sedimentary impact of a DANA event (Sep 11-13, 2019) in Rambla del Beal (Murcia). Using HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS models, rainfall (226 mm) and peak flow (171.73 m³/s) were simulated. Two DTMs, with and without infrastructure, showed differences in flood dynamics, with the modified DTM providing better accuracy. Results highlight the influence of alluvial fans, channel alterations, and mining residues, posing flood risks to urban and agricultural areas.
